This Privacy Policy describes how Cast TV: Stream to tv ("we", "us", "the Application") collects, uses, and protects your information.
Information We Collect
Device Information
We collect:
- Your device's Internet Protocol address (IP address)
- Operating system and device type
- Application usage statistics (pages visited, session duration)
Location Data
We collect approximate location information solely for discovering available Chromecast and DLNA devices on your local network.
Media Files
The Application accesses photos, videos, and audio files on your device that you choose to stream. These files are streamed directly to your TV over your local network. No media content is stored or transmitted to our servers.
Google Drive Integration
If you choose to connect your Google Drive account, the Application uses the following OAuth scope:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file
What This Scope Allows
- Access ONLY to files that you explicitly select through Google Picker
- Read file metadata (name, size, type) for selected files
- Download selected files temporarily for streaming to your TV
What We Do NOT Have Access To
- We cannot see or access ANY files you don't explicitly select
- We cannot browse your entire Google Drive
- We cannot modify, delete, or upload files to your Google Drive
How We Use This Data
- Display file names and thumbnails in the app for your selection
- Temporarily download selected media to stream to your TV
- All streaming occurs locally on your network
Data Storage
We do NOT store your Google Drive files on our servers. Temporary files are cached locally on your device during streaming and automatically deleted afterward.
Revoking Access
You can revoke the Application's access at any time through your Google Account settings.
Google Photos Integration
If you choose to connect your Google Photos account, the Application uses the following OAuth scope:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/photoslibrary.readonly
What This Scope Allows (Read-Only)
- View list of your photos and videos (thumbnails and metadata)
- View your photo albums and their contents
- Download full-resolution media files for streaming
What We Do NOT Have Access To
- We CANNOT upload photos to your Google Photos
- We CANNOT modify or edit your photos
- We CANNOT delete any of your photos
- We CANNOT share your photos with anyone
How We Use This Data
- Display your photos and videos within the app for selection
- Show album names for easy navigation
- Temporarily download selected media to stream to your TV
- All streaming occurs locally on your network
Data Storage
We do NOT store your Google Photos on our servers. Temporary files are cached locally on your device during streaming and automatically deleted afterward. No media content is transmitted to our servers.

Yandex Disk Integration
If you choose to connect your Yandex Disk account, the Application uses Yandex OAuth authentication.
What We Access
- List of files and folders in your Yandex Disk
- File metadata (name, size, type, preview images)
- Download selected files for streaming
What We Do NOT Do
- We do NOT upload files to your Yandex Disk
- We do NOT modify or delete your files
- We do NOT share your files with third parties
- We do NOT store your files on our servers
How We Use This Data
- Display your files within the app for selection
- Temporarily download selected media to stream to your TV
- All streaming occurs locally on your network
Revoking Access
You can revoke access at any time through Yandex Passport settings.
How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide core streaming functionality
- Discover compatible devices on your network
- Display relevant advertisements
- Improve the Application through anonymous analytics
Third-Party Services
The Application uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
Google API Services User Data Policy
Cast TV's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:
- All communication with Google and Yandex services uses encrypted HTTPS connections
- OAuth tokens are stored securely on your device
- We never see or store your passwords
Data Sharing
We may share aggregated, anonymous data with analytics providers. We do NOT sell your personal information to third parties. We do NOT share your cloud storage files with anyone.
Your Rights
You can:
- Uninstall the Application to stop all data collection
- Revoke Google Drive access through your Google Account
- Revoke Google Photos access through your Google Account
- Revoke Yandex Disk access through Yandex Passport
- Request deletion of your data by contacting us
Children's Privacy
The Application does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover such data, we will delete it immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
